US opens higher following earnings

Major stock markets in the United States opened higher on Tuesday, as companies continued to release their quarterly earnings reports. Warner Music reported a yearly increase in its quarterly revenue, while Eli Lilly's revenue also jumped despite a decrease in its net income. In other business news, PepsiCo reportedly plans to sell its juice brands to private equity company PAI Partners, while McDonald's and Tyson Foods are taking new steps to help combat the pandemic.

The Dow Jones opened 0.24% in the green, led by Nike gaining 0.66%. The Nasdaq 100 began 0.22% higher, with Tesla increasing 1.42%. The S&P 500 was 0.22% up at the opening bell, as Ralph Lauren jumped 9.42%.

The euro stood flat against the dollar trading for $1.18734 at 9:31 am ET.
