Bayer posts Q2 sales of €10.9B, up 12.9% YoY

Bayer AG revealed on Thursday that its sales for the second quarter of the year increased by 12.9% when compared to the same period last year to reach €10.9 billion.

For the same period, the pharmaceutical company registered a 75% change in its net loss, going from a loss of €2.3 billion to a loss of €9.5 billion. Additionally, Bayer also reported a loss per share of €9.72, which is also a per annum drop of 75%.

Werner Baumann, Chairman of the Board of Management, noted: "Sales at all divisions increased by a double-digit percentage after adjusting for currency and portfolio effects, and we expect this positive sales momentum to continue in all our businesses. We are therefore upgrading our full-year guidance, and now anticipate higher sales and core earnings per share than in our previous forecast."
