Amazon wins NSA's $10B cloud service contract - report

The United States National Security Agency (NSA) awarded Inc. a contract worth up to $10 billion in an attempt to modernize its cloud computing service and enhance the protection of classified data, Nextgov reported on Tuesday.

A representative for the NSA later told The Hill the organization has "recently awarded a contract for cloud computing services to support the agency," and that another company has filed a complaint about that decision.

Microsoft Corporation confirmed the firm is "exercising our legal rights" about the protest and will "do so carefully and responsibly."
