Walmart posts Q2 revenue at $141.1B, up 2% YoY

Walmart Inc. reported on Tuesday its revenue in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2022 rose 2% per annum to $141.05 billion. Operating income jumped 21% to $7.35 billion, while net income tumbled 34% to $4.28 billion. Earnings per common share (EPS) were $1.78.

The retail giant's United States segment posted a 5% increase in revenue at $98.2 billion, while Sam's Club's sales climbed 14% to $18.6 billion. Walmart International's revenue dropped 15% year-on-year to $23.0 billion.

The company updated its guidance for the full fiscal year to an expected increase of 6% to 7% in net sales, while EPS is seen coming it between $6.20 and $6.35. Walmart's eCommerce sales are projected to reach $75 billion by the end of the year.

Following the release of the earnings report, shares of the retailer fell 1.56% premarket.
