Precious metals decline, palladium down 4%

Prices of precious metals mostly decreased on Thursday, with the price of palladium falling more than 4%. Earlier in the day, reports indicated that car manufacturing is still affected by the ongoing chip shortages, as Toyota became the latest company to lower its global production.

Palladium fell 4.38% to trade for $2,321.64 per ounce at 8:52 am ET, as platinum declined by 3.47% to go for $964.49 per ounce at the same time. Gold stood flat at 8:50 am ET to sell for $1,788.40 per ounce, while silver traded 0.64% lower to $23.37 per ounce a minute later.
