Precious metals rise, palladium surges 5%

Prices of precious metals advanced on Monday, recovering some losses from the previous week, with palladium soaring more than 6%.

The increase occurred seemingly amid the weaker United States dollar, along with reheated concerns over the effects that the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant's wave could have on the economic recovery.

Palladium jumped 5.6% to trade for $2,404.64 per ounce at 10:23 am ET, as platinum went up by 1.36% to go for $1,010.39 per ounce a minute later. Gold increased by 0.92% 10:24 am ET to sell for $1,798.23 per ounce, while silver traded 2.07% higher to go for $23.51 per ounce a minute later.
