Japan's industrial production down 1.5% in July
Japan's industrial production index landed at 98.1 in July, declining by 1.5% month-on-month, according to a report released by the country's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) on Monday.
Compared to the same month of last year, Japan's industrial production has risen by 11.6%. Meanwhile, the shipments index added 10.8% year-on-year, while inventories shrank by 4.3% and the inventory ratio plummeted 13% on an annual basis.
On a monthly basis, the index of shipments and the inventories index each decreased by 0.6%, while the inventory ratio was up 1.2% when compared to the figure seen in June.
