US keeps Canada's status as 'reconsider travel'
The United States Department of State announced on Tuesday it has raised its travel advisory alert for Canada to a "level 4 - do not travel" status due to the coronavirus pandemic, but followed up with a clarification saying it still advises travel to Canada to be "reconsidered."
"This week, the following Travel Advisories have been assessed and reissued with updates, raised to a Level 4 - Do Not Travel: Azerbaijan, Canada, Estonia, Laos, North Macedonia, Saint Lucia and Switzerland," the original statement noted.
Meanwhile, the European Union yesterday recommended its member states to halt non-essential travel with the US due to a renewed surge in newly registered COVID-19 cases.
