Asian stocks mostly higher after Japan GDP numbers

Equities on major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly higher on Wednesday after Japan's second-quarter GDP figures surpassed previous estimations. The country's parliament will reportedly be looking to choose a new prime minister on October 4. Meanwhile, the People's Bank of China announced it will offer loans worth $46.5 billion to small firms.

The Nikkei 225 rose by 0.82% at 4:35 am CET. The Shanghai Composite declined 0.07% at 4:39 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite Index was up 0.12% at 4:55 am CET. The Hang Seng increased by 0.28% concurrently. The Kospi decreased 0.45% at 4:56 am CET. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was down 0.23% at the same time.

The dollar was flat compared to the Japanese yen at 4:57 am CET, trading for 110.2725.
