Delta fears, vaccine lags press on global outlook - OPEC

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) left its global economic growth predictions at 5.6% and 4.2% for 2021 and 2022, respectively, but warned that the spread of the Delta variant, as well as the pace of the vaccine rollout worldwide, could impact the forecasts.

Growth forecasts for 2021 for Brazil and Russia have been revised up, amounting to 4.7% and 3.5%, respectively, while India's prediction for the same year has been revised down to 9%, the cartel's Monthly Oil Market Report for September 2021 showed.

Forecasts for other countries, as well as India's, Brazil's, and Russia's outlook for 2022, have remained unaltered.
