US opens higher after CPI rises less than expected

Major stock indexes in the United States opened with gains on Tuesday after the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report for August, which showed a 0.3% growth compared to July, below projections. In company news, Amazon announced plans to hire 125,000 workers in the US, while Goldman Sachs revealed Denis Coleman will be its new CFO.

The Dow Jones rose by 0.31% at 9:30 am ET, led by UnitedHealth Group Inc. gaining 0.36%. The Nasdaq 100 added 0.46%, as Atlassian Group increased by 2.20% and the S&P 500 was up by 0.37%, with Albemarle Corp. improving by 2.18%.

The euro traded 0.16% higher against the dollar and went for 1.18306 at 9:38 am ET.
