Europe kicks off flat as UK inflation breaks record

Stock markets in Europe opened Wednesday's session mostly flat following the news that the August inflation in the United Kingdom reached as much as 3.2% to mark the series high.

Yesterday, the British government announced it will start administering COVID-19 booster shots to eligible groups starting from next week.

The DAX inched up by 0.07% at the opening bell. The CAC 40 rose by 0.08%. The FTSE 100 stood flat. The euro traded unchanged against the dollar at 1.18079, while the pound increased by 0.15% to 1.38278 at 9:00 am CET.
