ECB's Kazaks doesn't expect permanently high inflation

European Central Bank member Martins Kazaks (pictured) stated on Friday that there is no reason to expect prices to remain permanently elevated.

The official added that the inflation outlook is likely to be revised higher, noting that he does not see the 2% target sustainably reached in the medium term.

Earlier this week, Kazaks' colleague Pablo Hernandez de Cos argued that the current spike in inflationary levels of the Eurozone is "largely temporary."
