Navalny's associates say YouTube censored them

Allies of Russian opposition activist Alexey Navalny, who is currently jailed, argued that social media platforms YouTube and Telegram censored the organization amid the Russian parliamentary election.

The channels haven't allowed the group to recommend Russian citizens for whom to vote, Navalny's allies insisted. "It's a real disgrace when the censorship is imposed by private companies that allegedly defend the ideas of freedom," spokesman Kira Yarmysh noted.

The ruling United Russia party is expected to win a broad majority in the parliament, supporting President Vladimir Putin to remain at his post in the years to come.
