Biden: US not seeking new Cold War

United States President Joe Biden stressed on Tuesday in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly's 76th session that his country is not seeking "a new Cold War" or "a world divided."

"All the major powers of the world have a duty, in my view, to carefully manage their relationships," he asserted. "We [the US] will stand up for our allies and our friends and oppose attempts by stronger countries to dominate weaker ones. [...] The US is ready to work with any nation that steps up and pursues peaceful resolutions to share challenges even if we have tense disagreements in other areas."

Biden also stressed Washington is ready to return to full compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) "if Iran does the same."
