Precious metals rise, platinum up by 4%

Prices of precious metals observed significant gains on Tuesday following the markets' short-term recovery from the shock caused by the discovery of the Evergrande Real Estate Group's over-indebtedness. Meanwhile, the United States said it is ready to respond if the case triggers a crisis in real estate.

Gold gained 0.83% at 11:15 am ET to go for $1,778.95 per ounce. A minute later, silver rose by 1.40% to sell for $22.59 an ounce.

Palladium increased by 0.99% at 11:17 am ET, going for $1,909.86. Meanwhile, platinum surged by 4.01% at 11:19 am ET, selling for $950.73 per ounce.
