Reports: US oil stockpiles drop 6.1 million barrels

Crude inventories in the United States decreased by 6.1 million barrels in the week ending September 17, private data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) reportedly revealed on Tuesday. Oil reserves in Cushing Oklahoma were down by 1.74 million barrels in the period.

Meanwhile, gasoline stockpiles in the US reportedly decreased by 432,000 million barrels during the same week, while the country's distillate reserves saw a draw of 2.72 million barrels.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in November gained 0.24% at 4:23 pm ET to sell for $70.62 per barrel. Brent for deliveries in November went up by 0.36%, trading at $74.52 per barrel a minute later.
