UK's Shapps insists there is no fuel shortage

United Kingdom Transport Secretary Grant Shapps (pictured) asserted on Sunday that there is no shortage of fuel in the country, adding that the current queues at gas stations are due to panic buying.

Shapps also said that the government is working on a package of measures that will ease the ongoing energy crisis and that will help "reassure the public." The measures include bringing in the army to help with logistics, doubling the capacity of lorries, and implementing special temporary visas for truck drivers as an incentive to get back into the workforce.

Previously it was reported that BP will have to ration fuel supplies in order to ensure the continuity of deliveries, while UK officials noted that the country's spike in gas prices may last longer than originally thought.
