Amazon presents home robot Astro

Amazon's senior vice president David Limp presented on Tuesday a new home robot called Astro, who will assist users in keeping an eye on older family members and pets.

The autonomous robot took 4 years to create and incorporates Amazon's most recognized artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Essentially, it has Alexa features at its core, uses a screen for facial expressions and moves on wheels around the house.

The product is expected to go on sale this year for $1,000.
