House passes bill to avoid government shutdown

The United States House of Representatives passed a stopgap funding bill on Thursday to avoid a government shutdown, sending it to President Joe Biden.

The legislation passed with a 254-175 vote with all Democrats and 35 Republicans voting in favor.

Earlier in the day, the Senate passed the bill to keep the government funded through December 3. In case Biden doesn't sign the bill by midnight, the government will face a shutdown from Friday.
