US oil stockpiles up by 951,000 barrels - reports

Crude inventories in the United States increased by 951,000 barrels in the week ending October 1, private data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) reportedly revealed on Tuesday. Oil reserves in Cushing Oklahoma were up by 1.9 million barrels in the period.

Meanwhile, gasoline stockpiles in the US reportedly added 3.7 million barrels during the same week, while the country's distillate reserves saw additional 345,000 barrels.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in December gained 1.72% at 4:57 pm ET to sell for $78.62 per barrel. Brent for deliveries in December went up by 1.71%, trading at $82.66 per barrel a minute later.
