Oil prices rise slightly as EU warns of energy crisis

Prices of crude futures advanced slightly on Wednesday as European Union officials reported that Brussels is considering reforms related to the energy market.

The bloc's Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson argued that the recent increase in prices was related more to dependence on imported fossil fuels and their volatile prices than EU's climate policies.

Brent for December deliveries gained 0.33% at 09:35 am ET to go for $82.56 per barrel. At the same time, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in November climbed by 0.28% to sell for $78.93.
