Watchdog accuses Psaki of violating Hatch Act

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), the United States government's watchdog that examines ethics and accountability in officials' actions, accused on Friday White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki of violating the Hatch Act.

The aforementioned bill prohibits employees in the federal civil service from engaging in political activity. According to CREW, Psaki violated it by commenting on Terry McAuliffe's campaign for Virginia's governor. "We're going to do everything we can to help former Governor McAuliffe, and we believe in the agenda he’s representing," Psaki said at a press conference earlier this week.

The White House is yet to comment on the matter.
