S. Korea sees drop in daily infections as measures weaken

Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) revealed the number of newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Korea fell below 1,500 on Sunday, as health authorities plan to start with eased distancing rules.

After the 1,420 cases registered on Saturday are included, the total number of people who tested positive for the virus in the country reached 342,396.

The latest tally marks a decrease from the 1,618 cases reported the day before, and nearly 2,000 seen on Thursday.
