FB settles claims with DoJ over recruitment violations

Facebook Inc. settled the claims that it refused to recruit workers from the United States for positions that were set aside for temporary visa holders, the US Department of Justice unveiled on Tuesday.

At the same time, the social media giant agreed to a separate settlement over recruitment violations for not making a good-faith effort for recruiting domestic workers over temporary visa holders.

According to the settlement, Facebook will pay a $4.75 million civil penalty and will pay in total of $9.5 million to those that have been affected by the company's policies.
