UK inflation down to 3.1% in September
The annual inflation rate in the United Kingdom stood at 3.1% in September, the Office for National Statistics reported on Wednesday. In August, the figure was 3.2%.
The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) grew 0.3% in September on a monthly basis. Including owner occupiers' housing costs, the index (CPIH) rose by 2.9% year on year and increased by 0.3% when compared to the previous month.
The rise in the annual inflation rate was primarily attributed to transport, housing and household services, restaurants and hotels and recreation and culture.
