Eurozone inflation up to 3.4% in September

The annual inflation rate for the Eurozone increased 0.5% when compared to the previous month to reach 3.4%, Eurostat unveiled on Wednesday.

At the same time for the European Union, annual inflation reached 3.6%, up 0.5% from last month's figure. The highest contribution to the euro area inflation rate came from energy, which was followed by services, non-energy industrial goods, and food, alcohol, and tobacco.

The highest annual rates were registered in Estonia and Lithuania, both standing at 6.4%, followed by Poland at 5.6%. Meanwhile, Malta had the lowest annual rate at 0.7%, followed by Portugal and Greece, which had respective rates of 1.3% and 1.9%.
