Eurozone's services sector slows growth in October

The Eurozone services sector activity decreased in October, IHS Markit revealed in its report published on Thursday. The Final Eurozone Services Business Activity Index landed at 54.6, falling from 56.4 observed in September.

The Final Eurozone Composite Output Index slid from 56.2, seen in September to 54.2 in the tenth month. The largest expansion was observed in Ireland, where the Composite PMI stood at 62.5, followed by Spain, whose index came in at 56.2.

"Eurozone growth has slowed sharply at the start of the fourth quarter, with manufacturing hamstrung by supply constraints and services losing momentum as the rebound from lockdowns fades," Chris Williamson, chief business economist at IHS Markit, commented.
