Australia to start giving vaccines to children from January

Australia's Health Minister Greg Hunt said on Sunday that the government plans to start administering COVID-19 vaccines to children younger than 12 years from next year.

"The expectation that they have set is the first part of January, hopefully early January. But they're going as quickly as possible," Hunt told the Australian Broadcast Corp. commenting on the timeline in which regulators will review the shot for minors.

In case the jab gets approved by health regulators for this age group, COVID-19 Taskforce commander Lieutenant-General John Frewen stressed the country has acquired "sufficient supply for doses and boosters down to infants."
