Walmart's Q3 revenue up 4% YoY to $140.5B
Walmart Inc. reported on Tuesday its total revenue in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2022 increased 4.3% when compared to the same period last year to $140.5 billion.
For the same period, the retailer's operating income remained steady at $5.8 billion, while its net income saw a 39.5% yearly decline to $3.1 billion. Walmart's diluted earnings per share went from $1.80 last year to $1.11 this year, constituting a per annum loss of 38%.
Walmart CEO commented on the results: "Our momentum continues with strong sales and profit growth globally. Our omnichannel focus is pushing digital penetration to record levels. We gained market share in grocery in the U.S., and more customers and members are returning to our stores and clubs around the world."
Walmart shares were up by 1.95% in premarket trading following the release of the report.
