Armenia, Azerbaijan halt clashes after Russia talks
Armenia and Azerbaijan halted clashes on Tuesday after defense ministers of the two countries held phone talks with their Russian counterpart Sergey Shoygu.
"As a result of telephone conversations ..., the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides took measures to stabilize the situation," the Russian Defense Ministry announced. "Clashes in the area of Mount Kilisali have ceased, the situation has returned to normal and is under control," it added.
Earlier this week, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused Azerbaijani troops of invading Armenian territory and Yerevan asked Moscow to help in protecting its sovereignty from Azerbaijan's latest attacks.
