EIA: US crude inventories down by 2.1 million barrels

Commercial crude oil inventories in the United States, excluding those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, slid by 2.1 million barrels to 433 million barrels in the week ending November 12, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported on Wednesday.

US crude oil refinery inputs averaged 15.4 million barrels per day, up by 32,000 barrels per day from the average recorded the week before. Refineries operated at 87.9% of their capacity, while gasoline production slowed down, averaging 9.9 million barrels per day.

The US crude oil imports averaged 6.2 million barrels per day last week, up by 83,000 barrels per day reported the previous week. Additionally, total commercial petroleum inventories dropped by 8.9 million barrels during the period.
