Oil up 2% with talks on Iran nuclear deal in focus

Prices of oil futures were up over 2% on Monday, after the seventh round of talks on the Iran nuclear deal (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action or JCPOA) in Vienna ended on Friday without a clear solution to revive the agreement and potentially lift sanctions on Tehran's oil exports.

The number of oil rigs in the United States remained unchanged at 467 in the week ending December 3, Baker Hughes said in its weekly report on Friday.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in January 2022 rose by 2.32% to sell for $67.80 per barrel at 2:29 am ET, while Brent for deliveries in February 2022 increased by 2.09%, going for $71.33 per barrel at the same time.
