European markets kick off in green amidst data

Major European stock markets opened this week's first session in the positive territory, with the day marked by multiple data reports set for release shortly after the opening bell.

While new factory orders in Germany declined by more than expected 6.9% in October compared to the previous month, investors were also awaiting the British construction sector activity data as well as investor confidence survey results for the Eurozone.

The DAX started 0.97% higher, with Merck rising 2.29%. The FTSE 100 gained 0.61% at the opening bell. The CAC 40 increased by 0.66%, as Thales grew 2.18%. The euro lost 0.27% against the dollar to sell for 1.12782 at 8:53 am CET, while the pound stood flat at $1.32335.
