US goods trade deficit up to $97.8B in November

The United States international trade deficit stood at $97.8 billion in November, widening by $14.6 billion or 17% from the previous month, according to the US Census Bureau's advance report published on Wednesday.

Exports of goods declined by $3.3 billion from October to stand at $154.7 billion, while imports rose by $11.3 billion to $252.4 billion.

Wholesale inventories, adjusted for seasonal variations, but not for price changes, were estimated at $769.9 billion in November, showing a 1.2% increase compared to the previous month and a 15.7% jump on an annual basis. Seasonally adjusted retail inventories rose by 2% on a monthly basis and increased 0.6% from November 2020 to amount to $616.9 billion.
