Xi advises against abrupt monetary policy changes

Sudden changes in monetary policies are likely to exacerbate the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday.

Delivering remarks at the World Economic Forum, Xi added that "passing blame" between the countries is only likely to add to problems caused by the pandemic.

Touching on inflation, Xi warned that the risks of price hikes are increasing, pointing out that a multitude of factors, including supply chain disruptions and the state of the energy markets, are contributing to the trend synergistically.
