Biden, national security team talks Ukraine crisis

United States President Joe Biden met with National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and the rest of his team to discuss what the White House described as "continued Russian aggressive actions toward Ukraine."

"President Biden was briefed on the current state of Russian military operations on Ukraine's borders and discussed both our ongoing efforts to de-escalate the situation with diplomacy and our range of deterrence measures [...], including ongoing deliveries of security assistance to Ukraine. President Biden again reaffirmed that should Russia invade Ukraine, the US will impose swift and severe consequences on Russia with our allies and partners," the White House's statement read.

Earlier this week, Biden stated that, if Moscow launches a full-on invasion of its neighbor, Washington will introduce sanctions on Russia like its President Vladimir Putin "has never seen." Later, his predecessor Donald Trump accused him of giving Putin "a green light" to attack Ukraine.
