Europe opens higher ahead of Fed meeting

Major stock markets in Europe started Tuesday's session with gains, recovering from the previous day's selloff, as investors focused on corporate earnings and awaited the United States Federal Reserve's monetary policy decision set to be announced on Wednesday.

The FTSE 100 climbed 0.82% at 9:00 am CET with Melrose Industries rising 2.39%.

The DAX rose 0.88% at 9:03 am CET. HelloFresh and Delivery Hero, up 2.08% and 2.04%, respectively, led the gains.

The CAC 40 jumped 1.22% at 9:00 am CET. The best performer was Publicis Groupe, whose shares gained 2.70%.

The euro lost 0.16% against the euro to sell for 1.13025 at 9:01 am CET and the pound traded flat compared to the US currency, going for 1.34844 at the same time.
