Eurozone economy expands by 4.6% in Q4

The Eurozone's economy increased by less-than-expected 4.6% in the last quarter of 2021 compared to the same trimester of the previous year, according to a preliminary report published by Eurostat on Monday.

On a quarterly basis, the figure came in at 0.3%. Spain registered the largest quarterly increase in the gross domestic product of as much as 2%, followed by Portugal and Sweden, while on the other hand, Austria led the list of countries which posted negative growth at 2.2%, followed by Germany and Latvia.

The next fourth-quarter GDP estimate is set to be published in mid-February.
