Bayer's Q4 sales up by 11% to €11.12 billion

Bayer AG revealed on Tuesday its sales in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2021 observed an annual rise of 11.23% to reach €11.12 billion, exceeding expectations.

The company's net income from continuing operations surged by 277.94% in comparison to the same period in 2020 to come in at €1.16 billion. Its earnings per share (EPS) skyrocketed by 268.75% year-on-year to stand at €1.18 per share. Meanwhile, the group's adjuster earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) before special items went up by 0.12% on an annual level to €2.4 billion.

"Our business performed markedly better than expected in all divisions, and we have exceeded our adjusted Group forecast. So we are on the right track," Bayer Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Werner Baumann commented. "We demonstrated our innovation capabilities yet again by strengthening our research and development pipeline and launching new products, and continued to make great strides toward achieving our ambitious sustainability targets."
