Europe opens lower amid ECB's vote, Ukraine talks
Major European stock market indexes were in the red at the open on Thursday as the investors waited for the European Central Bank (ECB) to announce its decision on the monetary policy.
Regarding the situation in Ukraine, Kiev's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Russia's top diplomat Sergey Lavrov will talk in Turkey, with their meeting scheduled to coincide with the start of the trading.
The DAX lost 0.33% at the start of the session with SAP down by 1.78% at 9:02 am CET. The CAC 40 declined 0.26% at the open as EssilorLuxottica plunged 2.57% a minute later. The FTSE 100 slid 0.22% as the session started with Persimmon tumbling 4.41%. Both the euro and the pound were flat versus the dollar at 8:59 am CET, selling for 1.10646 and 1.31925, respectively.
