BNY Mellon to replace CEO on August 31

Chief Executive of the Bank of New York Mellon, Todd Gibbons, revealed on Thursday that he plans to step down from his position on August 31, with Vice-Chair Robin Vince replacing him at the company's lead.

Gibbons became an interim CEO in September 2019, and officially became the company's head six months later in the peak of the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

The upcoming CEO, Robin Vince, was hired by BNY Mellon in October 2020 on Gibbons' initiative after leaving Goldman Sachs, and has since served as the vice-chair and head of the bank's market-infrastructure businesses.
