ESA cancels ExoMars program with Russia

The European Space Agency (ESA) announced on Thursday it has suspended the ExoMars astrobiology program that was about to be realized in cooperation with the Russian space agency Roscosmos later this year due to the crisis in Ukraine.

"Following the decision by Roscosmos to withdraw their personnel from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana, all missions scheduled for launch by Soyuz have been put on hold. These concern essentially four institutional missions for which ESA is the launch service procurement entity (Galileo M10, Galileo M11, Euclid and EarthCare) and one additional institutional launch," the ESA's statement added.

However, the International Space Station Programme has continued to work as usual, the ESA concluded.
