Europe opens mixed ahead of data

Major stock markets in Europe opened mixed on Wednesday ahead of the newest reports on the United Kingdom's consumer confidence and business climate and Germany's consumer prices. European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde will also give a speech on the current state of the Eurozone's economy. Investors will also pay attention to the new round of talks between Russia and Ukraine about the conflict in the latter country.

The DAX opened 0.73% or 108 points lower as Delivery Hero SE lost 3.23%. The CAC 40 decreased by 0.38%, with Renault SA declining by 2.47%. On the other hand, the FTSE 100 went up by 0.14% as Anglo American PLC grew by 2.10%.

The euro gained 0.19% to the dollar at 8:58 am CET to go for $1.11074. At the same time, the pound sterling rose by 0.21% against the greenback to sell for $1.31200.
