EIA: US crude inventories down 3.4M barrels

The crude oil inventories in the United States decreased by 3.4 million barrels to 409.9 million in the week ending March 25, the US Energy Information Administration revealed in its latest report on Wednesday.

Crude oil refinery inputs averaged 15.91 million barrels per day, 35,000 barrels per day more than the previous week’s average, while refineries operated at 92.1% of their capacity. Gasoline production dropped last week, averaging 9.1 million barrels per day, as distillate fuel production increased in the same period, averaging 5.1 million barrels per day.

Meanwhile, crude oil imports averaged 6.3 million barrels per day, down by 227,000 barrels per day from the previous week.
