Report: Amazon to add 5% surcharge for US sellers
Amazon Inc. is planning to add a surcharge of 5% to the fees the third-party sellers pay in the United States due to the rising inflation and prices of fuel, CNBC reported on Wednesday, citing a notice the company sent to its clients.
Amazon said the decision will be applied to all types of products "such as non-apparel, apparel, dangerous goods, and Small and Light items" starting from April 28.
"In 2022, we expected a return to normalcy as COVID-19 restrictions around the world eased, but fuel and inflation have presented further challenges," the notice said.
