Current state of Russia-Ukraine talks 'difficult' - Turkey

Turkish presidential spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin stated on Monday, during a meeting with the US delegation in Istanbul, that the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine has been "difficult" recently.

Kalin asserted that although Turkey was hopeful that the conflict would be closer to resolving after the country hosted two rounds of talks between Moscow and Kiev, he added that the current situation is "difficult." The spokesperson further said that Turkey is putting in the effort to bring the two sides together for negotiations yet again.

In relation to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, he commented that "we are entering a new era, the cold war, we must prepare for its future effects. We must prepare for food, energy, cyber security and many other issues."
