Wall Street extends losses, Dow drops 400 points

Markets on Wall Street extended losses on Monday with the Dow 400 dropping points. The market sentiment was affected by worries of a global economic slowdown amid the Ukraine conflict, as well as the rising number of new COVID-19 cases in China.

The Dow Jones slid 1.18% or 400 points at 12:05 pm ET. The worst performer was Chevron, whose shares tumbled 4.45%.

The S&P 500 was down 1.06% at 12:08 pm ET. Schlumberger and Halliburton led the losses as both companies' shares plunged over 9%.

The Nasdaq 100 lost 0.24% at 12:08 pm ET with ASML Holding falling 3.74%.
