SpaceX returns private crew from ISS to Earth

SpaceX said on Monday that it safely returned the spacecraft carrying the private crew of Axiom Space Inc.'s Ax-1 mission from the International Space Station (ISS) to Earth.

"Welcome back to planet Earth. The Axiom-1 mission marks the beginning of a new paradigm for human spaceflight. We hope you enjoyed the extra few days in space and thanks for choosing to fly SpaceX," the company's mission control said on the live stream of the landing.

The Ax-1 mission, which was described as the "first all-private human spaceflight mission" to the ISS, launched on April 8 and carried retired NASA astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria, real estate investor Larry Connor, Canadian investor Mark Pathy and former Israeli fighter pilot Eytan Stibbe with Lopez-Alegria commanding the mission.
