Stellantis' Free2move to buy Mercedes-BMW's car-sharing JV

Stellantis' Free2move mobility hub announced on Tuesday it reached an agreement to acquire ShareNow, a car-sharing joint venture created in 2019 by Mercedes-Benz Mobility Group and BMW Group.

"Integrating Share Now's strong position in major European cities will allow our customers to gain greater access to a wider range of services to satisfy their varied mobility needs," Free2move CEO Brigitte Courtehoux stated. "We are now a step closer to achieving our goal of expanding Free2move's worldwide presence to 15 million active users by 2030," she added.

Free2move noted it will add 14 major European cities and 10,000 vehicles to its fleet with the proposed acquisition. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval.
